Laura Clark brings a rare combination of Eastern and Western medicine to her patients. As both a Doctor of Pharmacy and a nationally board-certified acupuncturist, she is uniquely positioned to support patients navigating complex, chronic, and difficult-to-treat health conditions with a truly integrative approach.
Training and Credentials
Laura earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida in 2003, completing three years of didactic training followed by a year of clinical rotations across Florida. She then completed a competitive one-year pharmacy practice residency specializing in solid organ transplant at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans in 2005.
Drawn to the depth of Eastern medicine, Laura went on to complete her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine at Acupuncture and Massage College in Miami, Florida in 2013, a three-year, 2,800-hour program that included 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice. That same year, she became a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Laura holds additional certifications in acupoint injection therapy, including homeopathic medicines and B12, and is a certified Reiki practitioner. She has devoted her career to patients who need more than one system of medicine can offer, including veterans and people living with complex chronic conditions.
Why Ethereal Flow
People who know me well say the name sounds like me, and I think they're right.
"Ethereal" speaks to the spiritual side of this medicine. Acupuncture works on more than the physical body. It also supports the emotional and spiritual parts of who we are. Qi, the vital energy at the heart of Chinese medicine, isn't something Western medicine has fully defined yet, and researchers are still learning how acupuncture works, even after thousands of years of use. In Chinese medicine, there's also the Hun, often translated as the Ethereal Soul, which is connected to our dreams, our sense of direction, and our purpose in life.
"Flow" comes from the idea of a flow state, that feeling of being fully present, when everything moves with ease and nothing feels forced.
Together, the name describes what I hope for every person who walks through my door: to move through life with more ease, in body, mind, and spirit.

My Journey to Ethereal Flow
I graduated with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree at 22 and went straight into a competitive residency in solid organ transplant at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. I was hired to replace my supervisor. The week I was set to step into that role, Hurricane Katrina made landfall.
I spent a month living with a family I had never met in Baton Rouge. When I finally made it back to Florida, the only position I could find was in retail pharmacy. Clinical pharmacy had been my calling. Retail pharmacy nearly broke me. Everything moved fast, and there was rarely time to really talk with anyone. I knew something was missing, but I couldn't name it. It was like cooking a meal that tastes good but is missing one ingredient, and you can't quite put your finger on which one.
I began searching for a form of medicine that felt meaningful again. Acupuncture caught my attention, though I approached it with plenty of skepticism. I enrolled in school anyway.
My skepticism faded in my second year, when I followed a veteran's case from intake to discharge. With consistent acupuncture alongside the care from his medical team, he was able to stop needing his opioid pain medication. He told me he could finally pick up his grandson without pain. That was the moment everything changed. I had found the missing ingredient: real connection with the people I care for, and time to hear their stories.
I also know what it feels like to be on the other side of the exam table. For years, I went through test after test and appointment after appointment, only to be told it was all in my head. It wasn't. I eventually got a diagnosis, and I'm still being treated for it today. I believe every person deserves to be heard, and no one should ever be told their pain isn't real.
The final push to open my own practice came after I had a heart attack and took three months away from work to recover. When I came back, I knew I needed to build a practice where patients and the people caring for them are truly valued.
I've been through my own suffering, and that's why I treat suffering with compassion. I also believe healing is a partnership. I bring my training and my full attention, and we work together toward getting you back to feeling like yourself.
Ethereal Flow exists because healing is real, and because everyone deserves a practitioner who has seen both sides of medicine and chose this path deliberately.
